Security & Malware Scanner

Protect your server with real-time scanning and threat management.

Running Scans

Quick Scan:

  1. Click Run Scan
  2. Scans web directories for threats
  3. Checks common file locations
  4. Completes in 5-10 minutes

Full System Scan:

  1. Click Full Scan
  2. Scans entire server
  3. Includes home directories
  4. May take 30+ minutes
  5. Run during off-peak hours

Custom Scan:

  1. Click Custom Scan
  2. Select specific directories
  3. Choose scan depth
  4. Configure exclusions
  5. Start scan

Scan Results

Threat Details:

  • Threat name and type
  • File path
  • Severity level (critical, high, medium, low)
  • Detection date
  • Recommended action

Threat Types:

  • Malware
  • Web shells
  • Backdoors
  • Suspicious code patterns
  • Known CVE exploits

Managing Threats

Actions on Threats:

  1. Quarantine: Move to isolated area
  2. Delete: Remove file permanently
  3. Disable: Make file non-executable
  4. Allow: Whitelist as trusted
  5. Review: Manual inspection

Bulk Actions:

  1. Select multiple threats
  2. Choose action
  3. Apply to all selected
  4. Monitor execution

Whitelisting

Add to Whitelist:

  1. Right-click threat
  2. Click Add to Whitelist
  3. Prevents future alerts
  4. Use carefully for legitimate files

Manage Whitelist:

  1. Click Whitelist in menu
  2. View all whitelisted items
  3. Remove items to re-enable scanning

Real-Time Monitoring

Enable Real-Time Protection:

  1. Click Enable Real-Time Scanning
  2. Monitors file changes continuously
  3. Alerts on suspicious activity
  4. May impact performance
  5. Disable if needed for high-traffic sites

Notification Settings:

  1. Email alerts on threats
  2. Configure severity level
  3. Daily digest option
  4. Slack/webhook integration

Scan History

View Scan Logs:

  1. Click Scan History
  2. Shows all previous scans
  3. Threat counts by severity
  4. Export scan reports

Schedule Scans:

  1. Click Schedule Scan
  2. Configure frequency:
    • Daily, weekly, monthly
    • Preferred time
  3. Auto-quarantine suspicious files
  4. Email reports

Best Practices

  • Run full scan weekly minimum
  • Enable real-time monitoring on production servers
  • Review detected threats promptly
  • Keep whitelist minimal
  • Test quarantined files before deletion
  • Regular backups before removing threats
